Northern Plains Power Technologies was founded in 2004 and is headquartered in Brookings, SD.  Our founder, President and Principal Engineer is a licensed Professional Electrical Engineer in South Dakota, and holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta. 

As our slogan says, we are dedicated to Moving Power Forward, by enabling extensive deployment of renewable resources, distributed power architectures (i.e. microgrids), and electric transportation, through the use of powerful computer models to develop innovative solutions to difficult problems.

We believe that it is economically and strategically critical to move America and the world toward sustainable energy, and the three technologies mentioned above are keys to achieving this.  However, it is also critical that these technologies be "grid-friendly", so that their widespread deployment does not cause additional problems.  We are dedicated to identifying and solving those problems--in many cases, before they happen.
